Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: August 16, 2026
This page explains how burnbanradar.com handles affiliate relationships, in line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255), which require clear disclosure of any "material connection" between a site and the products it links to.
What this means
Where burnbanradar.com links to a product — for example, fire-safety equipment or gear that remains legal to use during an active burn ban — that link may be an affiliate link. If you click it and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a small commission from the retailer (such as Amazon, through the Amazon Associates program). This never costs you anything extra — the price you pay is the same whether or not you use our link.
What it does not mean
A commission does not change what we show as a county's legal status, and it does not influence which products we choose to mention. We select products based on whether they are genuinely useful and legal to use under current conditions — not based on which pays the highest commission. Burn-ban status data and affiliate content are kept clearly separate on every page.
Where you'll see this
Any section of the Site that contains affiliate links carries a visible label near the links themselves (for example, "may contain affiliate links") in addition to this standing disclosure page. As of the date above, county pages show a "Still legal during a ban" section with Amazon affiliate links to fire-safety equipment — burn barrels with spark arrestors, screened fire pits, and fire extinguishers — but only on pages where a ban or partial restriction is actually active. It is never shown as a way around a restriction, only as what stays legal regardless of it.
Advertising
burnbanradar.com may also carry standard display advertising in the future (banner-style ads served by an ad network). As of the date above, no advertising is active on the Site. When it is, ads will be visually distinguishable from editorial content and from the burn-ban status data itself.
